Peter Beech - Center Director
Peter has been working in EFL in Greece since graduating from Sussex University in the UK. After several years running his own school in Corinth, Peter moved into teacher training on completion of his Master’s in Teaching English. He also works part time as an Associate Lecturer with the UK Open University, tutoring on the TESOL module of the MA in Education. His academic interests are centered on the use of technology in education, and especially Computer Assisted Language Learning. He was the founding coordinator of the TESOL Greece CALL SIG, and has given numerous professional presentations in this area.
Helen Stampouli – Trainer
A native of Athens, Helen has two undergraduate degrees from Athens University, one in Classical Philology and one in English Literature and Culture, as well as a Master’s in Applied Linguistics. She has twenty years’ experience working at private schools of English in Athens, and has also taught on degree programmes for the University of Hertfordshire, University of Greenwich and University of Athens.
As a member of GALA, the Greek Association of Applied Linguistics and TESOL Greece, Helen has participated in numerous conferences, and has also published extensively in the area of Second Language Acquisition.

Accommodations
Athens accommodation options include apartments, hotels and hostels offering either shared dorms or private rooms. All the accommodations are centrally located to provide easy access to the training center.
An apartment for one or two people costs from around 800 euros for the month. A single room in a cheap hotel costs from around 25 euros per night, and a double room from around 18 euros per person per night. In the peak season, rates rise to around 40 euros per night for a single and 25 per person for a double. A dorm room with 4 – 6 beds costs from around 12 euros per person per night, rising to around 16 at the height of summer.

Resources
All you need to bring is a pen and a notebook for taking notes during class. A latop will also be very useful if you have one, but is not essential.
All course materials are supplied. In addition to our own specially-written training handbooks, we have an extensive library of EFL textbooks and other resources
Weather
Athens enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate year-round, with daytime temperatures ranging from 55o F - 13o C in January – February to 90o F - 32o C in July – August.
